Patricia Conolly, PMHNP-BC – Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

I am so excited to join the Atracare team and begin caring for and supporting individuals in this wonderful community.

Originally from the suburbs of Philadelphia, I attended Pennsylvania State University, where I obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. I have worked in various areas of nursing, but found my passion in the mental health field, which lead me to pursue a Master of Science Degree in Nursing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

As a nurse practitioner, I believe in a holistic approach for my patients. I aim to provide individualized care by taking into account all aspects of my patients’ lives. I offer a compassionate and non-judgmental environment, as I work alongside individuals in their journey to improved mental health. I am determined to support people in getting where they want to be in life by utilizing a solution-focused approach to treatment, which emphasizes setting measurable goals.

In my free time, I prioritize spending time with my family and my adorable dog Remi. We love relaxing on the Delaware and New Jersey beaches!

It breaks down what helps specific symptoms—acetaminophen or ibuprofen for fever and aches, decongestants for congestion (with cautions about blood pressure and rebound congestion), antihistamines for runny nose/sneezing, and cough suppressants or expectorants depending on the cough type—plus soothing options for sore throat like lozenges, warm liquids, saltwater gargles, and honey (for ages 1+). It warns against doubling up on the same active ingredients (especially acetaminophen in multi-symptom products like DayQuil/NyQuil) and encourages asking a pharmacist if unsure. It also lists emergency symptoms and high-risk groups who should seek medical advice, and emphasizes rest, fluids, humidifier use, and sleep as key to recovery.
